How to Measure Up a Thumb Guard for Kids
Measuring up a fabric thumb guard for kids, to help them break the thumb sucking habit, is really simple.
Each Thumbsie® is handmade, so please do ensure that you take care when measuring to get the best fit.
Please measure the length from the tip of the thumb to the bend in the wrist, as shown in the diagram.
Our guards come in five different sizes. When ordering your material please select one of the following:
|Size to order||Inches||cm|
|Extra Small||2.5 or less||6.3 or less|
|Small||2.6 – 3.3||6.4 – 8.4|
|Medium||3.35 – 3.7||8.5 – 9.5|
|Large||3.75 – 4.1||9.5 – 10.5|
|Extra Large||4.2 – 4.7||10.6 – 12|
If you find that you need a bigger size then we do offer a bespoke service, making them suitable for teenagers too. All of our guards are secured by Velcro around the wrist, are adjustable, and will therefore fit all size wrists.
The Thumbsie® will fit either the left or right hand. Your child is going to be wearing the fabric thumb guard during the day as well as night time, so we highly recommend buying three for each thumb that they suck, so you always have enough to maintain good hygiene. For that reason we apply a discount at checkout when you order more than one.
