2. Care Instructions

Wash by hand or on a 30°C delicate cycle before first use, once you are satisfied with the fit and sizing
Iron on a standard cotton setting if required
Wash dark colours separately

After trying lots of different ways to try and stop my daughter’s thumb sucking habit, she suddenly stopped after using her Thumbsie. She has been a thumb sucker since a baby and I thought we would never get her to stop! I would really recommend Thumbsie for anyone wanting their little one to stop sucking their thumbs/fingers.

Ich habe den Daumenhandschuh für meinen 5-Jährigen Sohn gekauft. Er hat sein Muster selbst ausgesucht. Er hat sich riesig über das Paket im Briefkasten gefreut und sogleich angezogen. Nun nach 2 Tagen bin ich wirklich überrascht. Er trägt den Handschuh noch immer selbstständig und er nimmt den Daumen nicht mehr in den Mund. Beim Schlafen, TV schauen und Autofahre der Daumen bleibt draussen. Ich bin begeistert! Der Handschuh ist sehr schön genäht und der Stoff sehr angenehm. Thumbsie has been nothing short of a miracle for my 4 year old daughter! She has been sucking her thumb for years. I was at my wits end with my son (9) and trying to break his thumb sucking habit. I felt we tried a lot, from nail biting solution, to chew toys that go around your neck, reward charts, this was my last resort and we're 4 weeks in and can't believe it! Thumbsie has been a great success for my little girl! She has sucked her thumb since 3 months old and it was beginning to shape her teeth and gave her a sore thumb. We tried the liquid dip and that just resulted with lots of tears and tantrums. However when we introduced her to thumbsie she got on board straight away. She is happy and proud to wear it. Three months later and we have not seen her suck her thumb once in the last few weeks! Success at last! We would strongly recommend this product to other parents.

I bought these for my 4 year old who has been a self-soothing thumb-sucker since she was a baby. Despite understanding that she needed to stop, it was clearly a habit she was finding hard to break, and as she sucked her thumb when she was tired, it was impossible to 'police' at bedtime etc. This winter her thumbs were getting really sore from the sucking, and I noticed her front teeth had also started moving.That's when I found Thumbsies. I ran the idea by her to help 'protect her thumbs', and she was keen. I showed her all of the patterns and she picked the dinosaur pattern excitedly and we measured her hands. When they arrived, she was proud to wear them and loved the accompanying book and star chart.The first 3-days to a week were the hardest at night time as she didn't think she could sleep without sucking her thumb, but with encouragement and a bit of extra soothing, plus the obvious barrier presented, she did fall asleep, and thus learnt that she could.We used half of the star chart to reward wearing the thumbsies, until we felt confident that she was not seeking her thumb anymore, and then the other half of the Star Chart to then wean her off of the thumbsies, and remind her that she didn't need her thumbs to fall asleep.We stuck with it and she hasn't looked back. It's been amazing, and her school were totally fine with her wearing them. I sent her Thumbsies book in with her book bag for reference so they could encourage her too as she did use to suck her thumb in class. They've been a winner!Thanks for a brilliant product that has genuinely helped my child break a habit of a lifetime.

I can’t believe how quickly and painlessly the thumbsies worked. We used a sticker chart for every day she kept them on and in under a week she was able to have the thumbsies off during the day and has stopped thumb sucking completely. No tears at all. Amazingly effective.

We first tried thumbsies a when my daughter was 3, it quickly became apparent that she wasn't ready. Having now turned 5 my daughter said she wanted to stop, so we gave it another go. This time it was smooth sailing and I think we could probably have stopped the thumbsies within a few days. However we kept them on during the week for about 4 weeks and a night for a few weeks longer until she asked to stop. She's absolutely smashed the finger sucking and as an added bonus has also stopped biting her nails at the same time.

My 13 year old daughter is using these. She has decided to try and stop sucking her thumb due to an orthodontist telling her she will be unable to have braces and she would benefit from these. She sucks her thumb for sensory reasons and when anxious and sucks for many hours a day. She has found them okay to wear, and this a really big thing for her, but just removes them to suck her thumb or doesn't put one on. We may buy more to be able to have more in handy places to put on, and would recommend them.

My daughter really didn't want to wear a thumb guard but being able to choose a design she liked, something that Thumbsie offers, helped her get around to the idea. The products are very well made out of soft material. They wash well. They are easy to take on and off but have enough velcro to make it difficult for my daughter to take them off in her sleep. The velcro helps them fit well so they don't just slip off like other elasticated ones do. They came pretty quick too. I would definitely recommend them and would buy again if I needed to.

Excellent service. We ordered a cat print thumbsie but sadly the fabric had gone out of stock. They got in touch to let me know and suggested a different cat fabric they did have (my little girl preferred!) She has used it for around 4-6 weeks now and it has totally cured her day time thumb sucking so no longer wears it. We have not yet tackled night time yet but planning to soon!

My 6 year old daughter has sucked her thumb since she was a baby and I was beginning to think we would just have to accept this. Any other way we’d tried to get her to stop had failed. However she kept asking us to help her and I came across Thumbsie. The many designs helped as she loves cheetah print fabric and she took to wearing it straight away at night. After a couple of months of wearing it she asked to take it off and she now no longer sucks her thumb. I am proud of her for giving this a go and also over the moon this has worked. Thanks Thumbsie. Eva has sucked her thumb since she was born, at night, when tired, when anxious ie a lot! I never thought this would work but it's been over 4 weeks now and she's not sucked her thumb once! She enjoyed picking the fabric and Jo was really helpful with this. The only problem I have now is that she won't take the thumbsie off! Thanks Jo we're all so happy it's working and proud of Eva.

I was sceptical about how these would work as my daughter has sucked her thumb since she was a tiny baby. She showed absolutely no signs of stopping, and she’s now 5, and would need to suck her thumb to get to sleep and whenever she was in the car or watching TV. After just a week of wearing the thumbsie overnight she has totally stopped!! At all times of the day. Honestly so impressed!

My daughter sucked her thumb night and day. Having seen pictures of what it can do to your mouth as it grows, and being able to choose her favourite designs for a thumbsie (panda, fairy and love hearts), once the thumbsie was on she stopped sucking her thumb immediately, even at night. The reward chart enabled her to get something special after a week of not sucking, and the book enabled her to be proud of wearing it. The thumbsie was enough to remind her to not put it in her mouth without resorting to nasty chemicals. She is much more communicative now, and after wearing her thumbsies for 24 hours a day for a couple of weeks and then only at nights for a month or two, she now doesn't need to wear it at all and has completely stopped. Total success - thanks to thumbsie. We have recommended to several other parents.

My 6 year old daughter sucked two fingers from about three weeks old. Her dentist told her she must stop! We ordered a set of three Thumsies (for fingers) in March and initially used them in the day time at times when the fingers would go in. They were lovely quality and the pretty fabric meant my daughter liked to choose which one to put on. After a couple of weeks using the Thumsies and the star chart she broke the day time habit. Night time was definitely harder and there were a few nights when the Thumsie had to come off. It got easier and after 6 weeks or so the Thumsie was really just there as a reminder. It’s now July and we are Thumsie and finger-sucking free! A great result!

I'm still shocked at how well this product worked for our 3 year old daughter, even after reading all the great reviews myself. I'll be honest, when they arrived I thought 'how will this work, she'll just undo the velcro?' But she didnt; she was excited about her thumbsie's and there was no fuss at not having her thumb at bedtime (shocker!). The reward chart helped too. It took about 2 weeks until she didnt need to wear them during the day. We've now removed them at bedtime also and her thumb does not appear to be creeping back into her mouth. Thank you Thumbsie!

I decided to try Thumbsie to help my 5 year old stop sucking her thumb, following a recommendation from our dentist. She had sucked her thumb day and night from 3 months old. My daughter loved the Thumbsies, and enjoyed the attention they got at school. After just a few days of wearing them day and night I could see an improvement, and after 3 weeks we were amazed to find she had completely stopped sucking her thumb! It's now been several months and she has not sucked her thumb at all. This is an amazing and gentle product that really works, I can't recommend it highly enough. The service was also excellent.
