Looking Back with Gratitude: Thumbsie’s Journey Through 2025

As we step into a new year, we wanted to pause and reflect on what 2025 meant for Thumbsie®. As a small UK business focused on creating innovative children’s health products in the UK, this past year has been about progress, purpose, and real-world impact. From industry recognition to meaningful giving and everyday wins for families, 2025 reminded us why we do what we do.

Here’s a look back at some of the moments that made 2025 so special for us.

Supporting Education Beyond Borders

One of our proudest moments this year had nothing to do with awards or products.

In 2025, Thumbsie® sponsored a child in Ghana — Raphael — supporting him through a full year of education via Akwaaba Volunteers. Education has the power to change lives, families, and futures, and being able to contribute in even a small way means so much to us as a business built on care and responsibility.

This wasn’t about publicity — it was about perspective. Running a children’s health brand gives us a constant reminder of how fortunate many of us are, and sponsoring Raphael felt like a meaningful way to give back.

Award Recognition That Truly Meant Something

2025 was a standout year for recognition across children’s health and wellbeing.

We were honoured to win Silver at The Junior Design Awards in the Best Health & Wellbeing category — an achievement that felt particularly special because these awards are judged by experts and trusted by parents alike.

One quote from the judging panel perfectly summed up what we strive to do:

We were also named Most Innovative Children’s Health Solutions Manufacturer 2025 – UK by Global Health & Pharma Magazine as part of their Global Excellence Awards. Innovation for us has never been about complexity — it’s about simple yet thoughtful, child-friendly design that actually works.

And to round off the year, Thumbsie® was crowned Best Children’s Oral Habit-Breaking Product at the GHP Global Excellence Awards. Recognition like this reassures us that our approach — gentle, practical, and parent-approved — really is making a difference.

Designing with Purpose: New Fabrics for 2025

Creativity played a big role in 2025 too. We added nine brand-new fabric designs to the Thumbsie®  collection, each thoughtfully created to be both practical and fun.

We were thrilled to welcome Amy Gaunt, a talented designer based in Derby, to work on our new fabric designs.

All of our new fabrics are digitally printed in Britain by Stuart Morris in Suffolk, meaning our latest designs are entirely UK-made. This local production helps us keep our carbon footprint as low as possible — something we’re constantly mindful of as an environmentally conscious small business.

Every new fabric is 100% cotton, chosen for comfort and durability, and designed with darker backgrounds so they stay looking fresher for longer — because we know children don’t just wear their Thumbsies® at bedtime, but while crafting, playing, and exploring the world.

It’s also essential to us that all fabrics are OEKO-TEX® certified, ensuring no harmful substances are used in the making or printing process. When it comes to products children wear daily, safety is never optional.
